Christmas comes early to Longmeadow School
Pupils at Longmeadow Primary School were preoccupied with thoughts of Christmas this summer. This is because the school is this year’s chosen school for Stevenage MP, Barbara Follett’s annual “Design a Christmas Card” competition.
After looking though a huge pile of entries, Mrs Follett visited the school on Monday 9th October to present the overall winner, Bradley Swain, aged eight from Silver Class, with his prize – £100 worth of book tokens.
Mrs Follett said, “as ever the standard of entries was really high. The children seemed to enjoy the competition. Bradley’s card will be sent to over 2000 of my colleagues, friends and family this Christmas, and will be displayed and enjoyed in many different countries.”
Bradley Swain said, “I didn’t expect to win but I’m very glad that I did. I liked the prize, I have bought a joke book and lots of other books too”.
