Minister speaks to business community

John Healey The Financial Secretary to the Treasury, John Healey MP, will be talking to local business people about last week’s Budget in Stevenage on Wednesday 29th March.

Mr Healey will join Stevenage MP Barbara Follett and Hertfordshire business leaders for breakfast at the Novotel Hotel in Knebworth Park. Other speakers will be the Managing Director of Stevenage-based Betfair, Mark Davies, and Mrs Follett’s best-selling author husband, Ken.

Mr Follett will be talking about this year’s recommended reading for the “One Book for Stevenage” initiative - "Aberystwyth Mon Amour” by Malcolm Pryce.

Mrs Follett said “I am delighted that The Financial Secretary to the Treasury has made the time to visit Stevenage. He will be able to give us valuable insights into the latest Budget. We are also very lucky to have Mark Davies speaking to us. His firm, Betfair, is the leading online sports betting exchange in the country and exactly the sort of high-tech industry Stevenage needs to attract.”
