School celebrates despite forthcoming closure

Barbara Follett was delighted to join in the celebrations at Pin Green School on Friday 8th July.  The school, which is closing at the end of this term following a review by Hertfordshire County Council, held a special Open Day to celebrate more than forty years of existence.

The Acting Headteacher, Sharon Swinson, and her staff were there to greet past and present pupils, friends and supporters. Year 6 children took their visitors on guided tours and asked them to sign a visitor’s book. Commemorative mugs and teddy bears were for sale.

Mrs Follett said “It is sad to see such a good and friendly school close. Lots of people have happy memories of their time at Pin Green”.
