Bats about badgers
Barbara Follett MP praised Hertfordshire Constabulary’s former Wildlife Liaison Officer, Steve Kourik, for his efforts to preserve the County’s bats and badgers when she presented him with the Stevenage Conservation Liaison Committee’s “Ed Sones Award” at Stevenage Museum on Saturday 29th January.
Ed Sones was a keen conservationist who was tragically killed on a field trip in the 1970s. Each year, the Committee honours his memory by awarding a trophy to someone they think has made a special contribution to the Stevenage environment.
Steve Kourik was the driving force behind the formation of the Herts and Middlesex Mammal Group and has devoted much of his life to conservation.
Mrs Follett said “Communities need people like Steve Kourik. He thoroughly deserves the award”.
