Mick Bassett commemorated
David Lammy MP, the Constitutional Affairs Minister, visited the Land Registry in Stevenage on 19th January to officially open the new Customer Information and Telephone Service centres.
The Customer Information Centre is called the Bassett Centre, in memory of the office's late Area Manager, Mick Bassett, who died in 2003 after completing almost 40 years service with the Land Registry. His son and widow are in the photo. The Minister, pictured with Mick Bassett's son and widow, made a brief speech and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
