Citizenship on the Agenda at Thomas Alleyne
Stevenage MP Barbara Follett visited Thomas Alleyne School in Stevenage recently to speak to Year 10 students during their special "Citizenship Day".
Mrs Follett spoke about the workings and importance of Parliament and her role as a Member of Parliament what it involves and the impact it has on your life and family.
Mrs Follett also spoke about her early life in South Africa and the effect that prominent politicians there, such as Nelson Mandela, had on her views. She told the students that it was anger that got her into politics and anger that kept her in them.
Mrs Follett said "Politics do matter. They affect your life much more than you know. Take charge vote."
