Art on the go in Knebworth
Stevenage MP Barbara Follett joined staff and customers at specialist art suppliers Art Van Go at the opening of their new premises in Knebworth last Sunday (9 September).
Art Van Go have been "on the road" selling specialist arts materials from their van since 1989. The new premises at "The Studios" in Stevenage Road will be used as an art materials shop, as the base for their mail order service, to run a series of workshops and to have occasional and permanent gallery space for exhibitions by visiting artists.
Art Van Go is owned by Viv Arthur and Kevin Mead, who live in Datchworth. They were joined at the opening by Ruth Issett, a textile artist who was delighted to be launching her second book "Glorious Papers".
Mrs Follett said "Knebworth now has its own art gallery. I hope that local people will support this local amenity".
