Minister for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education visits Stevenage
The Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education, Mr Bill Rammell MP, visited Stevenage on Friday 25th January and was the main speaker at a Business Breakfast hosted by Barbara Follett at North Hertfordshire College’s Stevenage centre.
Mr Rammell met local business people and discussed the skills challenge in the East of England. Other speakers included the Principal of North Hertfordshire College, Mr Finatan Donahue, and the Chief Executive of Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, Mr Tim Hutchings.
Mr Rammell stressed the need for business and the government to work with schools and colleges to make sure that students have the vocational skills and ambition they need.
Mr Rammell and Mrs Follett also took the opportunity to officially open the brand new state of the art hairdressing training facility at North Hertfordshire College in Stevenage.
Mrs Follett said “It is great when Ministers of the calibre of Bill Rammell visit our town. I know that the minister was really impressed by fantastic facilities at North Hertfordshire College and the drive and ambition of its staff and students”.
